This Encyclia vitellina is very close to my heart.

I bought it in June 2015 from Germany.

and it has flowered twice a year since.

When it gave me a seedpod in August 2015 I really wanted to propagate my own little Encyclias. As I had a one year old baby at that time, my plans didn't go anywhere

Encyclia vitellina is the signature flower of the Finnish Orchid Society, as you can see one in their society's emblem.

My plant has been in flower now since middle of December. It had a little seedpot once again but it fell off, still green.

As I was examining the second spike I found to my joy, that a third spice was coming. So more orange power during long and dark winter's days to brighten up the cold time!

This orchid is special! I was roaming the greenhouses of Orchideengarten Karge in Dahlenburg/Germany at the beginning of October2016 on the occasion of their 120th anniversary where I saw this unusual orchid that is also known as Bifrenaria secunda.

Funny enough it is a species within all of my beautiful hybrids.

When I came home, one spike was about to wither but shortly after, a totally new spike grew and gave me this beautiful spray of flowers.

I pretty much neglected this beautiful Paphiopedilum hybrid but it still presented me with a flower this year.

It just has opened it's bloom and I am very curious how long it will last.

I bought this slipper orchid last year at Orchideengarten Karge in Dahlenburg. I think it was in October 2015.

I have this amazing Dendrobium since September 2015 and bought it at Orchideengarten Karge.

It flowers twice a year and I love it's unusual flowershape.

At Spring Show in our Orchid Society in Kent, I actually won the Novice Trophy with this plant :-)
